We developed NOVA in 2006 for the Novartis Campus in Basel and for the open space offices in the Peter Märkli building. In order to structure the space visually and to define at the same time the different team units, we stacked three elements of NOVA.  Each element of these barrel-like cabinets takes 20-24 folders. With its sliding doors and the turntables inside, it provides easy access to the documents stored in it. Since the Alucobond material is now produced in a larger variety of colours, we imagine NOVA not only in office spaces but also in open kitchens to store tableware or – used as a single element ­– for low coffee tables or even for stools, topped with a cushion.
